ICML 2009: Continuing Education: Implementation of the Map of Medicine in QueenslandPresenter/s: Mr Garry Hall, Corporate Library, Queensland Health Biography: Garry Hall is the Manager, Central Library, Queensland Health. His responsibilities include the Clinicians Knowledge Network (CKN), a collection of state-wide electronic clinical knowledge resources, one of which is the Map of Medicine (MoM). He is a member of the MoM Steering Committee, being directly responsible for the licensing, authentication, access and administration aspects.Prior to his time at Queensland Health, Garry was the Director, Library & Learning Centre, Dubai Womens College in the United Arab Emirates (2000-2006). This followed from positions at Charles Sturt University (Director, Bathurst Campus Library) and the University of Southern Queensland (Associate Librarian, Electronic Information Services). In all positions, he has committed to broadening the impact of the respective libraries beyond their traditional and physical confines. Session: Map of Medicine, more commonly known as MoM, is shaping as a key element of future Queensland Health developments by a consistent approach to clinical practice. Initially selected as the tool for the Primary Secondary Care Interface Project (PSCIP), this product offers great scope as a high level decision support tool, as demonstrated by its deployment in the National Health Service.
